A lane walk to the Tamar
Weather: absolutely still, damp and misty in the valley, dry and crystal clear on the top.
Time: 2hrs 30 minutesPark in or near St. Mellion. Walk southwards aling the A388 for a short distance and then turn right down the lane to Tremoan. Enjoy the isolationof the hamlet . Keep on walking on this lane dropping down the hill and through woods.There is a magnificent left hand turn and camber before the stream. The lane rises slightly and passes Strawberry Hill. Take the right turn and then the left turn to dairymill, right next to drop down to Halton quay. Plod gently back ip the hill towards Mount Pleasant with its magnificent views and then left to Vertigo Cross.Take the old road back to St. Mellion.
Flowers: butterburs and the hint of the Tamar daffodils that are to come in all the banks. Spring is nigh!
Birdsong: joyous and extreme.
