There is a useful parking spot in the B 3257 near Clitters Farm. Walk down the hill towards Clitters Park then branch left towards the ford, at the junction turn right towards LuckettIn Luckett walk up the hill towards Higher Hampt. At the  cross roadsyou will see a footpath sign, take this path across fields and exit at a lane. Turn left,past Holwell, straight across at the next cross roads and then left to Poundfield,next right, next left down to Higher Land. At Higher Land turn  right and then the lovely footpath ( signed) which climbs steadily up the hill.Cross the lane, you are heading for Eureka House.Turm left back towards the B3257 and to where you have parked.

Whilst walking the  longer walk I chanced upon this short walk which I did later that day- it is an ideal evening walk.

Park at Luckett in the small village car park by the stream.Walk up the hill towards Higher Hampt and take the footapth sign  in the hedgerow on the left. From here  it is possible to do a figure of 8 walk via  Mugford and Treovist town. I came out at Mugford, turned left and then took the field path to Kellyhoe Farm and then back to the village.

Long walk: about 3.5 hours.

Short one: 6o minutes.

Birds: swallows in full flight.

Flowers: hedgerows in full summer glory before they  turn to purple hues.

Small joys: glorious views
