Weather: dry- at last-bright and chilly, but  not freezing.

Park in Callington and walk towards the Health Centre, before it turn left down Frogwell Lane. Keep on going until reaching the hamlet of Frogwell, turn right and carry on the road past Lendra, Caddapit and Woodlands Well with the sign on the turbine ( also reflected in the stained glass in the front door). Take the right after Woodlands Well ( there are some field path options along this stretch which cut off corners) and walk up the gentle hill turning right  into Trevigro. Then turn left and walk up the hill towards Bearland and down to Bearland Bridge. At the right at the next fork and re-enter Callngton by Haye Road and the Health Centre.

Birds: a flock of 20 lapwings on recently ploughed fields.

Flowers: a stalwart periwinkle bu little else.

Small joys: "steam" rising from the ploughed field and simply being back out and about. There was ice of skating rink quality by the entrance to the treatment works so one could only imagine what these small roads must have been like over the past few days of freeze.
