Frogwell Lane out of Callington
Date walked: 1st June,2008
Weather: Summer sunshine and looming louring skies.
Time taken: 15.15- 17.00
Frogwell Lane out of Callington, first right into Lendra Lane past Pigeon Wood, right and right again. Take the footpath signed on the right along a green lane and through some old woodland. At the gate turn into what looks like someone’s drive. Turn right ,take the next footpath sign on the left across a field, by some allotments and back into Callington,
This was a walk on which I saw no car and only one other person. It has high plodge potential in the woodland but this is compensated for the terrific views up the Lynher Valley from gateways along Lendra Lane. It felt hidden and undiscovered with views of what appeared traditional English rural landscape- Hardyesque.
Birds: swallows flying high.
Flowers: hedgerows have changed to pink with red campion predominating honeysuckle.
Small joys: the views are glorious.
