There and back from Millbrook to Cremyll
Glorious autumn weather.
Takes about 3 hours- including stop at coffee shop at Mount Edgecumbe
Start at Millbrook where there is a good and cheap long stay car park. Wander through the village heading east and reach the lake- I walked on the south side going and on the north coming back.
Carry on along the road heading east, as the road begins to rise and leave the shore ther are cottages on your right, take the footpath through the field on your left and follow the field edge. There are glimpses of the shore and Millbrook Lake through the trees( and some terrific blackberries and sloes). Carry on past the windmill. The best is yet to come...which is Empacombe Quay. It looks as if it has come straight out of a Daphne du Maurier novel and is now my dream house.Follow the signs steering you through the garden and drive,do not go up the drive, stick to the shore path. Where there is a 3 way split, take the first left and exit across the car park. Enjoy the fine views at Cremyll.Retrace your steps.
There were still a few swallows.
Small joys: the amount of butterflies
Why the writing is so small on this walk I know not.
