Park where you can between Lower and Middle Trefrize. Turn down the drive/path (signposted) towards Holywell. Walk through the garden at Halwell (signposted) and through the next field to exit via the stone step stile almost immediately opposite. Dog (friendly). turn left up the green lane( signposted) and follow to arise at wonderful views across the Inny valley- through the gate or stile, across the field, through another gate and into the wood. Down the wood valley to Trefrize Mill- right fork takes you down to the river ( obvious).Footbridge across the river. Retrace steps and follow path out of t wood then across fields in a straight line, past small barn and up track to lane, left and back to where you started.

Flowers: Not many, the hedgerows are starting to look very bedraggled and sad.

Small joys: wondering about the steepness of the drive to the cottage on the other side of the river at Trefrize Mill and wondering if it ever got icy.
